Recipe: Radish Salad
Korean radish salad is spicy, sour and sweet at the same time. It is a good side dish to serve with meat. Very simple to make. All you need is little patience in slicing radish into a thick string. I like it when it is sweet and sour, but if you want your salad less sweet and more spicy, put less vinegar and more chili powder.
Ingredients
- Radish 1/2
- Salt 1t
- Sugar 1T
- Korean red chili powder 1t
- Vinegar 1T
- Chopped green onion 1t
- Minced garlic 1t
Instructions
- Mix thin-sliced radish with salt and leave it for 10 minutes
- Add the rest of ingredients to 1.
- You can eat it right after you mix everything well, but I like to keep it in the fridge for half a day before I eat it

Just found your great blog. I’ve been in love with Korean food since my sister lived in Korea about 20 years ago. We live in Texas and we had to drive a long way to find Korean food, but are so happy that Korean restaurants are Finally closer to us! I’ve been wanting to try cooking it but always found the recipes intimidating. Thanks to you, I am getting up the nerve to try it. You are so helpful to answer questions and encourage us. Will let you know how it goes. A Big Texas THANK YOU!!! 😉
I am very glad that you liked my blog. Thanks so much Rita 🙂

Absolutely love Korean food!!! I have ONE favorite restaurant that I go to and will not try another. The man and woman that own it are authentic Koreans and they are the most wonderful two people!!!
What I would like the recipe for is the sweet radish and carrot salad/kimchi that they make. Got hooked on that over 25 yrs ago when I was pregnant.
hi ..would you be able share more korean side dishes.. ? things like the small anchovies, boiled peanut dish..etc.. i have tasted them many times in korean resturents but not sure how to make them.. it seems very simple to make though..
Thanks! and the red chili powder, is it the really fine one or the one with flakes??
Np 🙂 I use a flaky one, but I guess it all depends on how you like it.
If you dont have korean red chili powder, what can you substutite? Can you use american radishes? thanks
well.. I never used any other ingredients, so not sure. Have anyone tried a different ingredient?
